NATURE AND SCOPE OF ASSIGNMENT
The Nuclear Operations Directorate offers continuing students (undergraduate and graduate) and recent graduates within one year of graduation, the opportunity to engage in practical experience in training course development to further their educational goals. Under supervision, the selected candidate will build e-learning training courses and curricula on topics related to Conduct of Operations for the personnel working in the Weapons and Complex Integration (WCI) Directorate non-nuclear facilities, including the High Explosives Application Facility (HEAF) and Radioactive and Hazardous Waste Management (RHWM) facilities. Topics include conduct of operations elements such as control of equipment and system status, technical procedures, logkeeping, lockout/tagout, independent verification, component labeling, and control of interrelated processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AT THE UNDERGRADUATE 707.1 LEVEL (NON-EXEMPT)
- With assistance, will design, and implement creative training interventions using a variety of instructional methods and e-learning software.
- Under supervision, will use video, audio, and interactive tools to modify existing and/or create new courses.
- Assist the WCI Training Manager and WCI Conduct of Operations Manager with related projects and activities.
- Perform all assignments in accordance with ES&H, Security, and business practice
requirements and policies.
IN ADDITION AT THE GRADUATE 707.2 AND RECENT GRAD 712.0 LEVEL (EXEMPT):
- Under limited direction and supervision, will apply various instructional design theories and analysis techniques.
- Perform course and procedure development tasks that entail a basic degree of complexity.

QUALIFICATIONS
AT THE UNDERGRADUATE 707.1 LEVEL (NON-EXEMPT):
- Must be a continuing college or university student in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing an undergraduate degree in Instructional Design Technologies, Training and -Development, Communications, Organizational Development, or related field.
- Ability to perform basic problem-solving and project planning (plan, analyze and execute)
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to present and communicate concepts and ideas.
- Experience working with personal computers and familiarity with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
IN ADDITION AT THE GRADUATE 707.2 RECENT GRAD  AND RECENT GRAD 712.0 LEVEL (EXEMPT):
- Must be a continuing college or university student in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing a graduate degree or recent bachelors or master’s level graduate within one year.
- Demonstrated ability to work under limited supervision
- Demonstrated academic achievement.

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Elemental experience editing and generation of images using graphics software
- Elemental experience in video acquisition and editing

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Pre-Placement Medical Exam:  None required.

Pre-Employment Drug Test:  External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
